A studio that is able to record in 3D fundamentally differs from a conventional studio. Not only that the amount of speakers and microphones is a lot higher – 13.1 in comparison to 2.0 – makes up factor 7. The noises (that occur in the recording process) have to be reduced a lot, because they appear sevenfold. The room acoustics play a far bigger role as in stereo and the computer efficiency has to be increased – it’s a completely different world! Furthermore 3D requires a new sound aesthetic and a completely new way of working. There are only a handful of people who have made experiences with this technology. There are new challenges to be found and new discoveries to be made all over the place. We are in a phase that is just as exciting as back in the 1960s.
I (Christian Vaida) have already had the chance to make comprehensive experiences in 3D. My studio cvmusic film/ton has been awarded first prize in the category best recording studio in 2013 and 2014 (Deutscher Rock & Pop Preis). Best requirements for high-class recordings in the future format 3D-sound. If you got any questions just get in touch with us – we’ll be happy to provide consulting and it would be a pleasure to produce in 3D for you!
